Healthy Snack Shack
The school councillors of 2016/17 attended training with the school council link teachers to enable them to continue to develop our highly successful healthy tuckshop.
During the training, the children allocated responsibilities, created their own business plan and roleplayed the key functions of their business. The school councillors were responsible for their own market research and have decided on stock prices. They will also be responsible for ordering stock and stock control.
It is open at break times each week on Wednesdays and Fridays for KS2 (Years 3 - 6). KS1 (Years 1 & 2), have access to the tuck-shop on a Friday afternoon and this will be extended during the year ahead. The ‘Snack Shack’ sell healthy products including flavoured raisins, popcorn and apple crisps, all priced at 50p. We are enjoying healthy snacks during our play times!
Profits have already contributed to the purchase of a new food trolley to support the teaching of the food curriculum in classes. We have also donated money to our local Barnardo's branch.
