Safer Internet Day
On Tuesday 6th February we participated in Safer Internet Day; an annual event which is now recognised all over the world. Children across the school participated in special assemblies which included group discussions, watching films on the subject and a short drama performance by our most talented actors from Year 6! Each class then had a follow-up lesson on the same day, tailored to their particular age range. The message this year was to create, connect and share respect. There are many ways to be a good friend online; we discussed all the fun that can be had connecting with our friends using online resources, whilst remaining aware of and alert to the ways to do this safely and sensibly without harming or upsetting others or ourselves.
On-line safety is an integral part of our school curriculum. From Reception to Year 6 this is vital to help children enjoy the wonderful opportunities that our increasingly technological world can offer. We also raise awareness of On-line safety through assemblies and national awareness events such as Anti Bullying Week and Safer Internet Day.
