This week, Year 2 took part in an exciting and immersive outdoor learning session inspired by the Great Fire of London. Through hands-on exploration and teamwork, they brought history to life by recreating the events of 1666 in a safe and supervised environment.
The children worked collaboratively to build their own model of the City of London before observing how quickly the fire spread through the wooden houses. Others attempted to extinguish the flames using buckets, helping them understand the challenges people faced at the time and why the fire lasted so long.
This memorable experience combined history, teamwork and practical learning, allowing the children to deepen their understanding in a fun and engaging way that we hope will stay with them for years to come.
