As part of their Religious Education learning, Year 4 visited the Croydon Gurdwara to explore Sikh beliefs, values and traditions firsthand.
Year 4 enjoyed a fascinating visit to the Siri Guru Singh Sabha, Croydon, as part of their Religious Education learning about Sikhism. The children were warmly welcomed and learnt about Sikh beliefs, traditions and the importance of community. They explored the prayer hall, discovered the significance of the Guru Granth Sahib, and found out why respect, equality and service are central values in Sikhism. The visit also gave pupils the opportunity to learn about Langar, the free community meal that is open to everyone. The children asked thoughtful questions, showed excellent behaviour and gained a deeper understanding of a different faith and culture. It was a memorable experience that brought their classroom learning to life.
