This national award recognises schools that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to promoting and protecting the emotional wellbeing and mental health of pupils, staff and the wider school community — and we are delighted that our work has once again been recognised.

Following a full reassessment process, the verifier highlighted the exceptional work taking place across Rockmount and praised the way wellbeing is embedded throughout every aspect of school life. From classroom practice and pupil voice to staff wellbeing, parent partnerships and targeted support for children and families, the report recognised the strong culture of care that exists throughout our school community.

Particular strengths identified included our whole-school use of Zones of Regulation, our strong partnerships with families, the extensive support provided for children with additional needs, our commitment to staff wellbeing and professional development, and the wide range of interventions available to support pupils’ emotional wellbeing.

The report also recognised the work we have done beyond our school community, including collaborating with the local authority on borough-wide wellbeing resources, strengthening links with mental health services and creating opportunities for pupils to take part in enriching projects that build confidence, independence and self-esteem.

This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication of our amazing staff team, the wonderful children who continue to demonstrate kindness, resilience and empathy and our families who work in partnership with us to make wellbeing a priority.

At Rockmount, we firmly believe that children thrive when they feel safe, valued, supported and understood. Achieving this award again is a wonderful reflection of our commitment to ensuring that wellbeing remains at the heart of everything we do.
