We were thrilled to welcome practitioners from the Globe Theatre to Rockmount for a Shakespearean Spectacular! As part of our whole school focus on Shakespeare, oracy and book-making, pupils across the school enjoyed creative and engaging workshops exploring their focus play.
Pupils from Year 1 to Year 6 took part in a lively drama workshop, each one centred around a different Shakespearean play. The children explored Shakespeare’s language with a particular focus on oracy and performance, experimenting with voice, expression, movement and character to bring the words to life. They also enjoyed a range of drama games and activities, developing their confidence, teamwork and performance skills along the way.
It was wonderful to see the children so enthusiastic and willing to get involved, showing just how much fun Shakespeare can be when you get up on your feet and perform it! A huge thank you to Jim and Susan from the Globe for leading such engaging and inspiring workshops and bringing Shakespeare to Rockmount.
