Free Breakfast Provision

Different from paid Rockmount Children's Club

The government is planning for all primary schools to offer free breakfast provision from 2027.

From 7th September 2026, our school will be offering a Free Breakfast Provision for pupils in Reception to Year 6. This will replace the current NBCP bagel offer.

The Free Breakfast Provision will run from 8:20 am to 8:50 am, providing a simple, healthy breakfast such as a wholemeal bagel or a piece of fruit. Water will always be available, and milk may occasionally be offered.

Please note:

  • This is not a childcare session.
  • This provision is not available for Nursery children.
  • Children must arrive between 8:20 am and 8:35 am via the Rockmount Children's Club Gate in order to access the Free Breakfast Provision.
  • If your child arrives at 8:35am or thereafter, they should go straight to class.
  • Please ensure you book a place via Magic Booking at least two weeks in advance in order for us to safely staff the provision and order sufficient food.

Additional Support Needs

We are committed to providing an inclusive breakfast provision for all pupils wherever possible. However, due to staffing ratios and funding constraints from the Department for Education, including the need for some pupils to access a higher level of supervision (e.g. 1:1 or 2:1 support), this provision may not be suitable for all children. In these cases, we will work closely with parents and the Local Authority to explore appropriate and safe arrangements.

Parents/carers of pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), Behaviour Support Plan (BSP), Pastoral Support Plan (PSP), Individual Healthcare Plan (IHP), or any other identified additional support requirements should discuss their child's needs with the school before requesting a place.
