We are delighted to share that Rockmount Primary School has been selected by the Department for Education as a Reception Networks Lead School as part of the national programme to strengthen Reception provision across England.

This is a significant honour, awarded following a highly competitive national assessment process. The DfE highlighted the strength of our Reception practice, the expertise within our early years team, and the positive impact our work is already having both within our school and across the wider sector. We are incredibly proud that this work has been recognised at a national level.

As a Reception Networks Lead School, Rockmount will help shape and support Reception improvement regionally. Our role will include:

• Leading a local network of schools focused on high‑quality Reception practice
• Sharing resources and approaches through our website
• Hosting virtual network meetings
• Welcoming schools for in‑person learning visits
• Working collaboratively with Stronger Practice Hubs, Best Start Family Hubs, and English and Maths Hubs to strengthen joined‑up support for children and families

We look forward to contributing to this important national effort and supporting schools to ensure more children reach a Good Level of Development by 2028.

RISE Reception Network: Expression of Interest and Mailing List

We are currently awaiting further guidance following our meeting with the DfE on 23rd April 2026. As a result, confirmed dates for the RISE Reception Network sessions are not yet available. We will share updates and finalised dates with all registered schools as soon as possible.
