What is the Parent/Carer Forum?
The Rockmount Parent/Carer Forum (RPCF) is a partnership between parents/carers and the school. It provides a space for communication, collaboration, and engagement and a means to share ideas and discuss ways in which we can improve our school and extend opportunities for all our children.
Aims of the RPCF
- Encourage parent/carer involvement - Create a supportive environment where parent/carers can feel involved and connected to their child’s education and the school’s success.
- Support school improvement - Gather ideas and feedback to help shape school decisions, policies, and practices to improve the wellbeing and quality of education for all.
- Strengthen the school community - Build trust and strong partnerships between the school and families, promoting a positive and inclusive school culture where everyone feels appreciated.
- Improve communication - Offer a space to share information, ideas, knowledge, and skills.
These aims contribute to creating a better learning environment for all our children and fostering a close-knit, supportive school community.
How to get involved
Any parent/carer may nominate themselves to become a member of the RPCF. Ideally, each class will have two representatives who can share attendance. Nominations for members are invited at the beginning of the school year and during the year if a vacancy arises.
If you are interested in learning more about the forum and how to get involved, please speak to your current class representative(s).
How to get in touch
Class representatives can be reached through the class specific representative email address (see below). Please contact the school office if you need help contacting the class representative.
Forum meetings are held each half term. Any agenda items need to be sent to the class representative for consideration. If topics are not included within the agenda, your class representative will explain why and how to raise your matter with the school.
Please note, the RPCF is not the appropriate avenue to raise specific areas of concern relating to individual children. These issues should be addressed through the child’s class teacher or Learning and Teaching Leaders in accordance with the school’s communication policy (LINK TO COMMUNICATION POLICY).
Minutes from each meeting are posted below and a summary of what was discussed will be emailed out to the school community a couple of weeks after the meeting.
Frequently asked questions are also available online to address key topics that are frequently raised by parents/carers. (see below)
