Following a very busy summer break in school, we are so pleased to be able to tell you all that the Rockmount Learning Kitchen is complete. The shelves are fully stocked and the kitchen is now in use. We have also been able to open our doors to members of the local community.
The Learning Kitchen is a fantastic space for enhanced learning, where pupils can use the equipment for special events, learn about nutrition, health and safety and the Design & Technology curriculum.
What is the Rockmount Learning kitchen?
At Rockmount Primary School, we believe that learning to cook is a vital life skill. As a Food Flagship school, food is at the heart of our curriculum and our pupils already grow food in our Edible Garden. Our new learning kitchen enables us to extend teaching about food and cooking for our children and the local community.
