Autumn Term

We started the year looking at, 'The Arrival', a picture book about immigration. We made suitcases and inside we wrote our own story of immigration. Since then we have moved onto our new story, 'George's Secret Key to the Universe'. We have begun to look at fact files and we are in the process of creating our own fact file based on our topic, The Eagle has Landed.

In Maths we have been looking at place value, column addition and subtraction and we have now moved on to looking at angles.

Spring Term

This term we are learning about the Kingdom of Benin. We have used a non-fiction story about the stolen bronzes to create a newspaper article detailing the events from 1897. In English we are now reading Fire, Bed and Bone by Henrietta Branford and will write our own stories. Electricity is our new Science topic, where we will be doing many experiments with a focus on planning them.
