Autumn Term

Year 3 have started the year by exploring the story of 'Grendel, A Cautionary Tale About Chocolate'. The children had the opportunity to create their own versions of the Grendel story by making books. We have also taken the children back to the Triassic period where they have started to learn about dinosaurs. Time lines have been created and we are currently exploring dinosaur habitats.

Spring Term

Year 3 have been busy engaging in the story of, 'Wind in the Willows'. The children have had the opportunity to role-play and hot seat characters in the story. They have also been focusing on writing an informal letter in the character of Mole, to Mole's parents about the adventures that he has embarked upon.

Additionally, as part of our 'Weather' topic, the children are researching extreme weather around the world and the UK and the impact it has on people's lives.

Summer Term

Year 3 have started the summer term with an Ancient Greek day. The day included a visit from Freshwater Theatre Company who put on a performance of a Greek play. The children then collaborated to perform their own play which provided opportunities for them to understand what life was like during Ancient Greek times. This really brought history to life through the drama and exploration of artefacts.

The children also had the opportunity to make mini Olive and Feta Muffins
