The themes have been chosen to ensure that there is opportunity to cover all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.

Although specific areas of the curriculum have been highlighted, we plan for all areas to enable the children to experience a variety of play-based activities during their time in Nursery.

Autumn Term

In Nursery we have been having an exciting time, making new friends and settling in. We have been encouraging and supporting the children to form positive relationships with their peers and with the adults that will be working with them this year. Silver Class have been exploring their new surroundings and engaging in activities from all areas of the Foundation Stage curriculum.

We have been enjoying books, mark making, counting, using our imaginations, creating and having fun.

Spring Term

We have started the new term by travelling on the Silver Class Eurostar train. We have travelled through the Eurotunnel into France and are looking forward to travelling to other countries in the world. The children have been working well together, sharing and taking turns and having a lovely time in our wonderful learning environment.

We have now ventured into a dinosaur world and enjoyed discovering a dinosaur egg in our dinosaur den! When will it hatch? We have also been writing about dinosaurs and counting them and playing in our dinosaur small world area.

Summer Term

We are now exploring under the sea in our very own submarine. We are learning about sea creatures and having a go at making our own in the creative workshop. We are also counting them and writing about them, learning how to form the letters correctly.
