Autumn Term

We have had a great start to the new year in the two new year 6 classes. We are learning all about the Victorians and relating that to our local area. We are studying the art work of William Morris and we are reading the well known stories of Jim Jarvis in Street Child and of Oliver Twist. We are really looking forward to our Victorian Day where we get to experience what it was like for children during the Victorian times. We even get to experience a Victorian lesson.

During the second half of the autumn term we studied the gory depths of crime and punishment through the ages. We learnt about the first criminal system began and what crimes gave what punishments. To support our learning, we took an exciting trip to the London Dungeons, where we were greeted with all sorts of crimes from the past! We had a busy term in the lead up to Christmas, with Hugh from Wide Horizons coming into school to teach us about trains and how they work, we also performed a year 6 carol concert outside with hot chocolate and mince pies!

Photos from the year so far!
Spring Term
This Spring we are learning about Northern America! This will teach us the geography and history about North America. We will be learning about when North America was first founded and the people who lived there, then  we will be passing through the ages to the current day where we will learn about the different cities and states and the climate across the country.
