Autumn Term
The pupils and teachers of Year 4 are eagerly awaiting our trip to the Science Museum on Thursday 11th October 2018. This will support our current topic “It’s Electric!” which has already seen some great pieces of homework contributed by some children. We are also looking forward to getting our teeth into the new Science topic of living things and evolution, with some very interesting experiments lined up.
Our core literacy text “Krindlekrax” is proving to be a real page-turner, as we use the story to analyse characters and how to present an argument effectively. Debate and discussion is shared in the class about who should be the hero in the story. Will it be Ruskin? Will it be Elvis? The discussion goes on…
Our Year 4 classes have been learning all about the famous missions to Antarctica just over a hundred years ago and will shortly be going on some very exciting visits to tie in with this. This theme has made cross curricular links with our work in subjects such as Topic, English and Computing and some children have even submitted homework tasks of Antarctic themed Maths questions that they have created!
