At Rockmount we already do a lot to keep healthy, but during Healthy Schools Week, it happened every day, throughout the day! Highlights included a visit from an Olympic sportsman; opportunities to learn a new sport e.g. kick boxing and table tennis; cooking healthy food and a writing competition with book tokens for winners in every class.
Sports Day happens every year, but this year we invited all those children who had completed a cycling course to show off their skills and race! Every class also got to make some healthy food such as banana bread, vegetable soup and fruit smoothies. A writing competition was held to see who could write an effective report about air pollution and reasons why more people walking and cycling, rather than travelling by car, would help reduce asthma, lung and heart disease. If you want to know how to stay healthy, just ask a Rockmount pupil!
