Today Year 5 and 6 children had the opportunity to participate in a Shakespeare workshop led by actor Bryony Hannah. The children learnt about the significance of William Shakespeare as a playwright, poet and actor. In Year 6, the children discussed ‘Romeo and Juliet’, particularly focusing on fate, death, friendship and duality. In contrast, Year 5 children learnt about ‘Macbeth’, discussing the use of vowel sounds in Shakespeare’s play to accentuate mood and expression. The children loved doing warm up activities and freeze frames in groups.
A huge thank you to Bryony for such an amazing day!
