  • Visiting poet

    Wed 29 Nov 2017
We were very fortunate to receive a visit from the performance poet and playwright,  Joseph Coelho. This was kindly funded by the Kitley Trust who promote the art of creative writing. After holding a very engaging assembly for Years 3, 4 and 5, he carried out writing workshops in Year 5. The children and staff were blown away by his performance and loved getting involved and testing their own poetry skills.

"It was awesome. I liked how the poet went completely back in time and didn't break character. I learned a lot."

  • Cycling award

Ms Ahmed and Ms Jessel were nominated and then chosen to receive an award from Sustrans for all the many cycling initiatives that have run at Rockmount over the last 4 years. Only 6 schools in the whole of London were chosen for this special award.

  • India Day

    Fri 24 Nov 2017
Year 2 had a fantastic Indian Experience Day. They had the chance to experience some Bollywood dancing, a Bhangra drumming workshop and tasted different foods from India.
  • Volcano Workshop

    Thu 23 Nov 2017

Year 3 had a very exciting, interactive Volcano workshop today. They took a trip to Hawaii where the world's most active volcano, Mauna Loa is bubbling away ready to erupt. On this adventure they saw how the Hawaiians are affected by living on this dangerous land and what they do to stay safe.

"We worked in groups, played games and acted out the process of what to do if a volcano erupts. Would you know what to put in your bag if you needed to rush away from an erupting volcano and make your way to higher ground?"
