Keep up to date with what's happening in school.
It was wonderful to welcome so many of you to the Reading Breakfast today for years 3 and 4.
Thank you to everyone who attended the reading breakfast this morning. It was lovely to see so many people there and a great start to the day.
What a wonderful first few weeks we have had in Reception!
The children have all enjoyed exploring their new classrooms and making new friends. They have visited other areas of the school such as the dining hall, the big playground and our pond. We had a special visit from an author for poetry week and we made an 'Alliteration Potion' which you can watch on our Google classroom page. Reception chose our new pet fish for our classroom tank and had a visit from 'Loppy' our school rabbit.
On Friday, staff and pupils at Rockmount came drenched in denim to help raise awareness and funds for the charity Jeans for Genes. The charity helps support those impacted by genetic conditions. We raised a fantastic £411.90 for the charity.
Thanks to our wonderful school community for the support.

Year 2: Tuesday 26th September
Year 3 & 4: Thursday 28th September
Year 5 & 6: Friday 6th October
A big thank you to the poet James Carter for ending our whole school performance poetry week with a full day of exciting poetry writing and performances. Every child has had the opportunity to see how fun, easy and exciting poetry is.
Well done to our latest Young Writers competition winners. We are very proud of the hard work and effort they have put into being great writers. We can't wait to see their work published in a book.
This week we had a visit from two members of our local policing team- PC Adam and PC Becky. They talked to the children in all year groups about their jobs and how they support the local community. The children were very interested in their uniform and equipment and asked lots of questions about their roles.
