Keep up to date with what's happening in school.
This Final half term for year 6 has been one we'll never forget! After all the children working so hard this year, we had plenty of ways to help them celebrate how well they'd done.
We started off with some transition workshops, which helped prepare the children for their journey through life after Rockmount. They really enjoyed the financial workshop, where they earned 'money' by doing different activities and learned the importance of saving and spotting a good deal. On a more serious note, the children also attended a Choices and Consequences workshop, where they learnt the impact their choices can have now that they will soon be entering their teens.
The children had also been spending a lot of time rehearsing for their school play 'OLIVIA!', which culminated in three excellent performances by all the children involved to other year groups in the school and parents and carers.
The children with some teachers and parents then went on their long awaited PGL trip to the Isle of Wight. It was such an excellent trip, where the children were able to challenge themselves completing the many different activities they did and spending some real quality with their friends day and night. Definitely a trip the children will never forget.
To end the term with a bang, we also went to Adventure Island Theme Park, where again the children had such an enjoyable day, despite the wet weather. We realised that we have some real daredevils in Jade and Diamond class. And then finally the children had their Leavers' Assembly, a barbecue and disco to bid farewell to Rockmount.
As the year 6 team, we'd like to first thank all the people who helped make this year a success, specifically the RFC and Friends and Family of all the children. Good luck to all the children and come back and see us when you have the chance to let us know how you're doing. We'll miss you.

Year 1 had a fantastic time visiting Port Lympne Safari Park. They enjoyed the safari, seeing the animals and walking through the dinosaur forest.
Year 4 have had a fun-filled week getting messy and using their imagination to create their own models of an authentic Anglo- Saxon village!
We have been learning about what an Anglo-Saxon village would've looked like and what they would've featured, such as a chief house for the villagers to meet in, lots of space for farming, a blacksmith for forging weapons and storehouses for the crops.
We used various materials to design and create our very own village and below you can see the finished product! Pupils showed great enthusiasm for the project, carefully using tools such as hot glue guns to join their materials together, as well as working fantastically as a team. Well done Year 4! 😊
Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed the experience of going on the London Eye and seeing the amazing views of our city. The children also enjoyed travelling along The River Thames on a cruise.
"The school trip to the London Eye and the river boat cruise along the River Thames was amazing! The view from the London Eye was breathtaking and we can could see the whole city!" Year 2 child
We had a fantastic day at Crystal Palace Park! Reception had an amazing performance from a Magician. We also had a picnic, a visit to the farm, a dinosaur walk, ice lollies and time in the adventure playground. It was a great day and a brilliant way to celebrate the school year together. Thank you to those that could join and support us on the day.
Rockmount Sports Day ⚽
Hooray! Once again we have organised another successful annual 'Sports Day' competition in our school and we are glad to share some images of the occasion with you. Children competed in four teams and showed great teamwork and sportsmanship, which we emphasise in our PE lessons. Congratulations to all pupils and our parents and members of our Rockmount community who also participated in a 'race' as one of the main highlights of the occasion.
