Keep up to date with what's happening in school.
This week is 'Road Safety Week' and children from Year 5 and 6 will be doing an assembly about crossing roads safely. Even with a zebra crossing or refuge islands, we all need to 'Stop, Look, Listen and Think' before crossing any road. It is easy to be distracted by mobile phones or seeing a friend across the street. Please make sure you wear something bright or reflective on these dark evenings. 'Be seen, Be safe'.
In November, Waheed Alam, the Highways Engineer responsible for our area, came to Rockmount Road to see for himself the need for better signage, road markings and some sort of crossing outside the school gates. Parents and staff were able to present their concerns to the engineer and as a result, Croydon Council have agreed to go ahead and consult local residents about having a zebra crossing on Rockmount Road. This is wonderful news as we have been waiting for this for some time.
